The Lemba Tribe

The Lemba, wa-Remba, or Mwenye are a Bantu ethnic group native to Zimbabwe and South Africa, with smaller, little-known branches in Mozambique and Malawi. In Zimbabwe and South Africa, the people prefer the name Mwenye.

The Lemba Heritage Institute

The Lemba Heritage Institute is a Non-Profit Organisation established to bring light to the incredible culture and heritage of the Lemba people by establishing a repository and a formal library of all their oral and written history to ensure this amazing culture is preserved for posterity. We will in addition be engaging in fundraising activities to help fund the studies that go into further establishing the roots of the Lemba, as well as sponsoring the different events that the Lemba need to engage in.

You can visit our site to learn everything you need to about the Lemba. We have a blog dedicated to studies, news, and discoveries, a gallery for you to explore the Lemba heritage in images, and an events page for you to stay updated with anything happening with the Lemba people. We want to position as the central touchpoint for everything involving the furthering of the Lemba culture.
